A range of First Aid courses can be provided in a number of ways to suit the specific needs of every client, from one day 'Appointed persons' and Emergency Aid courses through to four day First Aid at Work (FAW) courses.  We specialise in Outdoor First Aid (Two Days)courses which meet the requirements of all the National Governing Body requirements for qualified outdoor instructors and leaders (ML, WGL, SPA etc).  Courses can be provided at your own venue or at Smelt Mill, the base for Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team.

All instruction is provided by ITC Approved Providers who meet stringent quality controls.  ITC is the national awarding body for First Aid training and is recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and HSE for specific First Aid at Work courses.  You are assured that your training is provided to the highest standard and that your qualification is recognised nationally.  For details of ITC click here.

All ITC Approved courses are designed to involve the participants in active learning sessions which typify the settings in which they operate, with realistic practice situations to reinforce the learning of highly tuned skills.   Your instruction will be provided by ITC Approved Providers, all very experienced full members of the Mountain Rescue Team.  

For the Outdoor First Aid option we are able to offer residential Two Day courses at Smelt Mill, the wild country base of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team.  Smelt Mill is a very comfortable residential facility with central heating and plenty of hot water. All bedrooms and lounge areas are carpeted and there is a bright airy dining room with views across the neighbouring fells.  Courses at Smelt Mill are fully catered with a good hearty breakfast to start the day, an excellent buffet lunch to keep you going and a full three course dinner in the evening.  Tea and coffee are constantly available, just help yourself.
